Returning Students

The school year is passing quickly! We have reached the halfway mark and want to share with you some important information regarding this school year and next. Please read our 2017-2018 Progress Report for exciting updates across the full spectrum of the Marist mission. Some highlights:

* This year we welcomed Fr. Theodore Lange who has been assigned as part-time chaplain to Marist.

* With academic excellence in mind, we adjusted our teachers' schedules to provide more time for collaboration and innovation.

* A new Ally Building student leadership team has been formed with a focus on a healthy school culture.

* We have raised over 80% of the funds needed to install a new track.

* Two of our teachers have received recognition for their achievements.

* We hired a full-time dean of students to further enhance campus safety.

* We installed a campus-wide electronic access control system.

Now is the time to start thinking about the 2018-19 school year. Below is information about tuition and fees, our Equal Access Tuition Program (formerly referred to as tuition assistance), scholarships and registering your student for the 2018-19 school year. A complete registration checklist can be found on our site.

Equal Access Tuition Program (formerly called Tuition Assistance)

You may have heard about our new Equal Access Tuition Program. This program is a new way of communicating our affordability so all families will consider the unique opportunities that Marist has to offer.

Families that apply will be offered a tuition rate between $5,500 and $11,850 based on their financial ability to pay. Those that choose not to apply will pay a tuition rate of $11,850. Returning families will see no change in our application process through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. Financial ability will still be determined using the information provided in the online application - including income, family size and monthly expenses. Additional assistance may be offered to those with the greatest financial need.

Please see some examples of how the new program will work on our site. We estimate that 35-40% of families will qualify. If you feel you might be one of those, we encourage you to apply for Equal Access Tuition by the deadline, Monday, February 26, 2018.

Did you know? Under the new tax law, families that have a 529 college savings plan can use up to $10,000 of it for high school tuition each year. This could be an important factor for you in the financial planning of your student's education.

Scholarships

Over $100,000 in scholarships will be distributed by the Marist High School Foundation to more than 75 deserving students. Scholarships range in amount from $500 to $2,500. Students must submit an online scholarship application and parents an online FACTS application. The scholarship application deadline is Monday, March 5, 2018 at midnight PST.

Contracts

Tuition contracts will be mailed out on April 6 to all students admitted for Fall 2018. The registration deadline to return your signed tuition contract with the $450 registration fee is April 20.

Tell a Friend

Word of mouth and personal referral are our most powerful marketing tools. Many of our current students chose Marist because someone recommended us to them. You can earn up to $400 off your registration fee by referring new students. Please see our website for more information.
Every student not only adds to the diversity of our student body, but they also have an impact on your tuition. The school's average cost per student goes down with each additional student - which translates into lower future tuition rates for everyone.
Following are some of the unique statistics about Marist to share with others:
  • College prep curriculum with a full range of electives in art, music and theatre
  • Class sizes average 21 students
  • Full class schedules with 7 academic periods
  • Student ACT and SAT test scores well above the state and national averages
  • Over 7,900 Christian service hours were given by our students
  • A 4-year graduation rate over 98%
  • A total of 1,743 college credits earned by our students last year through high-level College Now and AP classes
  • $5.8 million in college grants and scholarships awarded to last year's seniors
  • Over 50 extra-curricular programs that help students engage, learn, grow and have fun (Did you know we have a ski team now?)

Please contact Admissions Manager Rodrigo Hernandez ([email protected], 541-681-5464) or Finance Director Reba Stephens ([email protected], 541-485-7879) if you have any questions.

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you to provide an excellent education for your students!
